Tajā tālajā 1941.gada 13.jūnijā, Uzvaras laukums ir pilns ar autotransportu – sabraukušas gan vieglās, gan smagās automašīnas. Rīgā, Torņakalnā, 1941.gada 13.jūnijā – cilvēki steidzas savās ikdienas gaitās. Kaut kas tomēr ir citādi. Cilvēki tad vēl nenojauta, ka Torņakalna preču stacijā stāv preču vagoni, un jau iekārtoti cilvēku uzņemšanai. Lai arī pats deportācijas process Torņakalnā risinājās samērā ātri un saskaņoti, tomēr gatavošanās iedzīvotāju izvešanai aizsākās tūdaļ pēc Latvijas okupēšanas 1940.gada 17.jūnijā.
Ar 1941.gada 4.mata pilnīgi slepenu pavēli Nr. 00247 no PSRS NKVD karaspēka izdalīja 65054 cilvēku lielo čekas operatīvo karaspēku, kas sāka ierasties Latvijā, Lietuvā un Igaunijā, lai sagatavotu iedzīvotāju deportāciju.
Šodienas noskaņu neviens nedrīkst iztraucēt... ir pagājuši 80.gadi kopš šī baisā notikuma. Un cilvēki atceras
Egīls Skudra: Mēs dzīvojām Pudiķu ielā 12 – 1. Braucām centra virzienā un jo tuvāk centram, jo vairāk mašīnu. Pārbraucot Pontonu tiltu, mašīna strauji nogriezās pa kreisi, labajā pusē palika tāda kā skola. Kreisajā – tumša divstāvu ķieģeļu ēka, un tieši gar to mūri griezām iekšā.
Ruka Rita: Kad manu tēvu Alfrēdu Ruku 1941.badā atlaida no darba ar vārdiem: “Tagad jūs varēsiet iet Ulmaņa cūkas ganīt! “, man pusaudzei bija jāsāk pastāvīgi strādāt. 1941.gada pavasaris bija auksts, ceriņi un tulpes tikko sāka plaukt, kad sākās mūsu sāpju ceļš. Tā bija pirmā karstā diena... Liels bija mans izbrīns, ka blakus mūsu guļvietai atradās Latvijas bagātākā dāma, Benjamiņa kundze.
Ar meitenes interesi uzlūkoju viņas skaisto zīda kleitu, dūnu segu, gredzenu pirkstā un apakšveļu. Pēc ilgas svārstīšanās Benjamiņa kundze nokāpa pie pareģa Finka – viņš sēdēja blakus durvīm – uzzināt savu likteni. Finkam mugurā bija kažoks, bet padusē velteņu pāris.
1941.gada 14.jīnijā ir noticis baiss noziegums. Par to, ka notikusi “pretpadomju un sociāli bīstamu elementu” izsūtīšana – netiek ziņots. Klusē valdība, klusē laikraksti.

AK MANS DIEVS!! Tas noteikti ir šokējoši un patiesa liecība. Es 2019. gada 20.
